11 Mathematics and Science

MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE

This module will encourage you to think critically about the mathematics and science of our world.  We will explore a range of scientific skills, including carrying out investigations, modelling different scenarios, and thinking critically about the information and data we see in everyday life. We will learn about concepts from various scientific disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth & Space Science. We will consider how science ideas can impact people and how to communicate scientific information effectively. 

You will develop your mathematical skills, such as number skills, including percentages, fractions, rounding and rates, ratios, and proportions. We will also look at measurement, geometry and algebra skills. We will develop mathematical concepts such as precision, accuracy, units, and modelling shapes.  You will also carry out statistical investigations to answer questions relating to science.
