12 Classics
Classics is the study of ancient Greece and Rome. The Year 12 course focuses on Ancient Rome, looking at how society worked, and what daily life was like for the people that lived there. Weddings, funerals, birth, death, food, men and women, rich and poor will all be examined. The second topic will focus on ancient Greece, specifically their art and architecture. Why did the Greeks create art? How did it change over time and how did it influence later cultures? In Classics you will learn critical analysis skills, persuasive writing and a wider understanding of the origins of many aspects of our culture today, all through the fascinating lens of ancient societies, their art and individuals.
